Andy came to BDS in 2006 after earning his Juris Doctorate from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston. There, he was awarded a Public Interest Law Scholarship which is granted to select students who have a demonstrated commitment to serving their communities. Andy has interned in the chambers of U.S. Magistrate Bernard Zimmerman of the Ninth Circuit, with the Civil Rights Bureau of the New York State Attorney General’s Office, at the D.C. Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, and in Massachusetts, at the Roxbury Public Defenders Office. In addition, Andy was student coordinator for the Street Law Project which brought law students to vulnerable populations to facilitate educational sessions regarding the constitutional rights of individuals confronted with criminal prosecution.
Prior to law school, Andy interned for six months at Amnesty International in Washington, D.C. after graduating from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.
