Harriet Lane

Administrative Professional

 

After graduating from the Bushwick Adult Training Center in Brooklyn with a degree in Secretarial Studies, Ms. Lane began working in the private sector with a large food distribution company. During her 24 years as Director of Office Operations, she regulated and controlled inventory, supervised employees, scheduled appointments, posted general ledger entries, handled billing invoices and the company payroll.

 

In 1997, Ms. Lane joined the staff of the New York State Capital Defenders Office, a criminal defense agency which handled some of the most serious criminal cases in the region. In her capacity as receptionist and legal secretary, she processed legal motions, handled the offices petty cash accounts and maintained a statewide database relating to filings in death penalty cases.

 

Ms. Lane came to BDS in 2005, where she is a Legal Secretary. She has a lovely daughter who is a teacher. Ms. Lane has also been an active member of her church for over thirty years, holding leadership positions such as President of the Nurses Board, Sunday School Superintendent, and President, Event Planner and Fundraiser for the Church Anniversary Committee.
