Senior Trial Attorney
Martin Marshak started his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney. He prosecuted several high profile murder cases. As a successful trial attorney, he became the Chief of the Homicide Trial Bureau, which he created and headed. After ten years of service, in Brooklyn and Queens, Mr. Marshak started his own law firm. During the 14 years that he was in private practice, Mr. Marshak’s specialty was state and federal defense work, particularly white collar crime and drug importation cases.
Martin Marshak has been with Brooklyn Defender Services since it was founded in 1996. He has been a mentor to new attorneys since then, generously imparting his experience and knowledge to recent law graduates and law school interns. Mr. Marshak also teaches at St. John’s University School of Law and is a coach to the law school’s trial team.
